Anita Cox - Psychologist
Hi there! I’m pleased you’ve found me. My name is Anita Cox and I completed my Master of Clinical Psychology at Griffith University in Brisbane, and am currently registered as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). I am also currently completing my endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology.
I offer evidence-based assessments and treatments for a range of neurodevelopmental disorders and psychological concerns in children. I work with children with difficulties arising from ADHD, autism, anxiety, OCD and depression. Common difficulties include emotion dysregulation, interpersonal difficulties, poor executive function and sensory sensitivities. I work with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and exposure response prevention (ERP) modalities.
I am a warm and compassionate psychologist and work collaboratively with children and their families to assess cognitive proficiency, academic standing and social emotional functioning. This includes screening for ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, specific learning disorders and mood/anxiety disorders. During therapy, you’ll often find me sitting at a small kids table or on the floor with the kids. I like to ensure that children are empowered and given a sense of equality and agency in the clinic room. If this sounds like something you’d like to explore, please get in touch. I look forward to meeting with you to support your child.
